Who are the Croods

 The type of hominin the Croods are Homo neanderthals. They have a hard skull and their head looks similar to neanderthals. Grug learned how to use fire and wear animal hides like the neanderthals. Grug's brain or cranial capacity may be similar to the neanderthals as he is smart enough to escape the volcanic eruption and he quickly learned how to control fire. Both are bipedal and omnivores. They also both know how to communicate witch each other.

This image shows the history of tools and weapons that were used by hominins. We used potatoes and carve how the tools looked like. We were learning about the human evolution so it is important to learn about the tools that they used.

Mad Max: Fury Road redemption scene

 In the Mad Max Fury Road scene George Miller uses the aspect of close-up shot efficiently to convey the expressions worn by the characters.

As furiosa drives the war rig, the film technique used to capture her expressions was a close-up shot. She keeps her gaze forward, not to focus on the road as her eyes seem dazed and lost in thought as she says “I was taken as a child”  before moving her gaze out the window.  As she keeps her gaze out the window Mad Max questions her motive, Furiosa replies “Redemption” in a calm tone whilst maintaining the dazed look. It is clear that as she narrates her part of the story, Furiosa only thought about herself when attempting to escape but now it's different as she now isn't escaping herself but alongside the wives of immortan Joe when Max asks “what about them?” directing towards immortan Joe's wives and nux. She replies “hope” yet the technique establishing shot is used to capture the setting of the moment, as furiosa drives the war rig while reminiscing the camera angle captures just how barren and empty the world they live in now, driving through empty yards of nothingness. The dialogue shared between them and Furiosa’s moment of vulnerability explains just how close they have become during the times they’ve been together. From when Max was hostile and plagued with nightmares to sleeping vulnerably in the war rig as furiosa drives. Even when he jolts awake from a nightmare Furiosa gently coaxes him saying “it’s ok. Get some rest.” in a motherly soft tone. This shows that even though furiosa was demoted to a soldier, unlike the rest of immortan joe’s war boys who seem to only care about valhalla and worshiping cars and immortan joe. Furiosa is the only living person with the semblance of humanity. This can also be connected to Nux, who at the beginning used max as a blood bag and partaking in taking down the war rig, obsessed with witnessing valhalla change after witnessing the humility immortan Joe's wives showed him.

Ship of theseus

1. What is it? Explain it in your own words

 The ship of Theseus is a ship which the materials has changed and but the name and design of the ship is still the same.

2. What do you think the answer/solution is? Is there one

In my opinion it is like a human who has physically changed but their mind stays the same and names that never changed.

3. This this relate to our human identity? How so?

For me the ship of Theseus is still the same ship even tho the material has changed. It is like us people who may have changed our physical appearance but we are who we are and our mindset stays the same but it is for the person to decide if they want to change both physical and their mindset.

Fixed mindset vs Growth mindset

Fixed Mindset

Fixed mindset is for people who believes on their own intelligence or abilities in their life. People who is only good at certain things and gives up easily when they know that they're frustrated and they can't do it. 

Growth Mindset

Growth mindset defines people who likes challenges. They believe that failure is an opportunity for them to be successful. Believing that they can do it by trying. They want to try new things that they want like learning new skills and making it a challenge for them.

Growth Mindset is better because of their way to embrace challenges
